The Gramophone Allstars Big Band celebrates its 10th birthday with a special concert at the Sala Apolo inside the Curtcircuit. A party where soul, jazz and Jamaican rhythms converge once again. After forging his musical personality with albums like 'Just delightin' (2008), 'Simbiosi' (2010) and 'Levitant adrift' (2011), in 2014 the group expanded to the big band format with the ambitious project 'Jazzmaica', true declaration of intentions. The 2017 consolidate the formula with 'Maraca soul', where they open up to other Caribbean rhythms such as boogaloo or calypso. And now, coinciding with the 10th birthday, they are preparing a new commemorative EP where the most skatalitic face of their repertoire will shine. Under the musical direction of Genís Bou, The Gramophone Allstars has in its line-up with some of the most requested young talents of the Catalan jazz scene.
The year 2011 begins a new adventure with quality music as the protagonist. 'The Rigodonians': the selector Pablo Tudela, the MC Rodrigo Laviña and two impressive vinyl collections that sail in the yesterday and today of quality music hidden in the most unlikely buckets of shops, markets and abandoned DJ booths. From the Funk to the Bolsa Nova, going through the Calypso, the Rythm & Blues, the Cumbia, the Northern Soul, the Rap, the Salsa, the Dancehall ... with special attention to the Latin rhythms of yesterday and today. A warm-up that will burn the Apollo dance floor!
