Robert Finley is one of the leading voices in contemporary blues. Born and raised in Bernice, Louisiana, he spent decades performing as a street musician and gospel singer before releasing his debut album, Age Don’t Mean A Thing, at the age of 62.
His talent soon caught the attention of Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys), leading to a fruitful collaboration that produced albums such as Goin’ Platinum, Sharecropper’s Son, and Black Bayou (2023), the latter receiving widespread critical acclaim.
With his powerful voice and magnetic stage presence, Finley has become a celebrated live performer, playing international tours, major festivals, and appearing on shows such as America’s Got Talent and CBS Saturday Morning. Having overcome immense adversity, including losing his sight in his 60s, Robert Finley is now widely recognized as a true blues legend and one of the genre’s most compelling storytellers.
