Thylacine was founded in 2012 by William Rezé, who until then had worked as a saxophonist in various groups. Born in the French town of Angers, Rezé studied classical music and fine arts before taking that musical leap ten years ago, deciding to delve into the field of electronic music, a realm in which he moves along a path similar to that of Fakear and Superpoze. He draws inspiration for his compositions from his travels—for example, those aboard the Russian Trans-Siberian Railway, which led to his first album, Transsiberian (2015), or through Argentina in an Airstream caravan, journeys that culminated in Roads vol. 1 (2019) and Roads vol. 2 (2020).
