Bombino, a Tuareg guitarist and songwriter from Niger, channels the vastness of the Sahara through his music. After years of exile caused by political unrest, he gained international recognition with Agadez (2011). He has since released acclaimed albums including Nomad, Azel, and Deran, the latter earning a Grammy nomination for Best World Music Album in 2019, making him the first artist from Niger to receive the honour.
