Halfway between choreography and ephemeral architecture, GRID.IO lands in the passageway between La [5] and La [2] as a new kinetic light installation by Landscapes, a leading digital arts agency that creates, curates, and produces audiovisual and immersive projects.
The piece consists of eight lasers suspended from the ceiling, each connected to a motor that makes them spin constantly, transforming light into moving matter.
With no sound of its own, GRID.IO engages in a dialogue with the soundscape of Sala Apolo, making light the main voice. Eight rotating laser beams weave ephemeral geometries that respond to the audience’s movement and the rhythm of the surroundings, creating an immersive space where the viewer becomes part of the mechanism and rediscovers the notions of boundaries, movement, and presence.
Art Meets Apolo is a multidisciplinary exhibition project that aims to bring together club culture and art through the lens of different Barcelona-based artists. It has already featured works by Pedro Torres, Mónica Rikić & Jordi Gispert Pi, Alba Rihe, Sejal Parekh, Milica Lukic, Miroslav Perković & Andrei Warren, Antoni Miralda, and Anna Carreras.
The initiative has been developed and coordinated in collaboration with LAB36 and Galeria Senda, bridging two worlds—their respective artists, audiences, working methods, knowledge, and experiences—with a clear and shared benefit: local culture.
