The Skatalites are the creators of an entire musical genre: ska. Since 1964, they have been considered the forefathers of popular Jamaican music, influencing styles such as rocksteady, reggae, dub, roots, and dancehall. The legendary island band continues to keep their legacy alive with founding member and vocalist Doreen Shaffer, known as “The Queen of Ska.” Under the motto “Still rough and tough,” the legend has completed a world tour featuring the return of original member and percussionist Larry McDonald.
The band is currently celebrating its 60th anniversary with a tour that revisits their extraordinary musical legacy and features a series of covers of Chilean music.
