Just ten years after her participation in Lean On, Major Lazer's viral mega-hit, MØ can say without hesitation that she has survived the one-hit wonder trap. As an unbeatable argument, she can present the four albums she has released to date, which form an anthology of pop music from the last decade: if in fifty years' time someone wants to know (or remember) what the period 2015-2025 sounded like, the Danish singer's discography could be an exciting shortcut to the answer. A repertoire that is perfectly representative of contemporary Nordic pop and, at the same time, crammed with absolutely universal choruses.
The most recent ones are those that make up Plæygirl, her fourth album, a work with surprising echoes of electroclash and darkwave. ‘I just wanted to make music that made me feel free,’ MØ said of the process, although she has been following her own alternative paths for ten years now. MØ will present Plæygirl on 18 November at La (2) de Apolo in Barcelona.
