KZ Caribe returns to Apología with BAILE ASTRAL**, a new experience that brings together music, art, and immersive experiences through the sounds, memories, and imaginaries of the Colombian Caribbean.
This edition will feature a screening of Los Hijos de Benkos, a documentary by Lucas Silva (Colombia, 2000) that explores the Afro-Colombian culture of San Basilio de Palenque through its music and transformations, from bullerengue, cumbia, and son palenquero to champeta and its connections with African and Caribbean musical traditions.
Following the screening, the dancefloor becomes a meeting ground with Macondo, Pharaoh, and Juuuls, guiding audiences through champeta, soukous, afrobeat, afrobeats, amapiano, kuduro, dancehall, dembow, soca, highlife, makossa, and other sounds of the Afro-Caribbean diaspora.
As part of the experience, an astrologer will accompany the evening, opening a dialogue between body, music, and cosmos while tapping into the energy of October.

Documentary: Los Hijos de Benkos by Lucas Silva (Colombia, 2026)
Los Hijos de Benkos, directed by Lucas Silva Rodríguez, is a musical documentary that explores the African heritage in Colombia through the evolution of its traditional and modern rhythms from the Caribbean coast. The film highlights the living memory and the liberating legacy of Benkos Biohó among the Maroon descendants of San Basilio de Palenque.
Lucas Silva is a filmmaker, screenwriter, music producer, and the founder of Palenque Records, the independent label established in 1997 and dedicated to the production and promotion of Afro-Colombian music. For decades, his work has focused on researching and highlighting African heritage in Colombia and its connections to diasporic cultures.
Through Palenque Records, Silva has become a key figure in the international circulation of champeta and the traditional music of San Basilio de Palenque, working with artists and groups such as Sexteto Tabalá, Las Alegres Ambulancias, Son Palenque, and Batata.
MACONDO
Macondo is a Colombian visual artist, DJ, VJ, designer, and cultural producer based in Barcelona. Through KZ Caribe, the platform she founded and directs, she researches and shares the sound system culture of the Colombian Caribbean and its connections to Africa and its diasporas.
She crafts a selection she calls “Hierbas de Meneo”: a cocktail of champeta, soukous, highlife, Haitian compas, dancehall, soca, amapiano, afrobeat, kuduro, salsa, cumbia, and other sounds that crossed the Atlantic to meet in the Caribbean.
Macondo carries a tradition and a sonic legacy rooted in the Colombian Caribbean. A heritage built through music, joy, dance, and popular culture, which she understands as a living archive: a memory that travels, transforms, and comes back to life on every dancefloor.
Her sets are memory turned into movement: records, rhythms, voices, and pure waist-shaking swing.

Pharaoh
Pharaoh is a Caribbean DJ and music selector. He began DJing in 2009, drawing inspiration from the popular culture of his neighbourhood, the beach, and the rich musical traditions of the Barranquilla Carnival.
His selections explore the sounds of the Caribbean and its diasporas, connecting memory, territory, and contemporary culture through musical research, vinyl records, and digital formats.
Based in Valencia, he develops Afrodelica, a platform dedicated to Afro-Caribbean culture through music, parties, and cultural creation. His work has taken him to stages and events across Colombia, Spain, France, and Germany.
His selections explore the sounds of the Caribbean and its diasporas, connecting memory, territory, and contemporary culture through musical research, vinyl records, and digital formats.

Juuuls
Juuuls is an Ecuadorian DJ based in Barcelona. Her sound emerges from the intersection of Brazilian funk, afrohouse, vogue beats, dembow, and a wide range of Latin American rhythms that she has discovered and embraced throughout her musical journey.
Her selections are shaped by curiosity and the freedom to mix without a fixed roadmap: experimenting, crossing genres, and allowing the dancefloor to guide where the journey unfolds.
Rooted in her Ecuadorian heritage and deeply connected to Latin culture and the community around her, Juuuls sees music as a space for connection, identity, and collective recognition. Her sets create room for different influences to coexist, and above all, encourage people to find themselves in the music and move together on the dancefloor.
