‘Remembering Paco de Lucía’ brings together artists of the very highest calibre who have developed both artistically and personally under the influence of the maestro, and whose virtuosity and musical sensitivity carry on his legacy. The guitarists Diego del Morao, one of the most prominent figures in contemporary flamenco and son of the legendary Moraito Chico, Josemi Carmona, a member of the legendary Carmona family, son of the great guitarist Pepe Habichuela and an exceptional musician with direct links to the maestro, and Antonio Sánchez, Paco de Lucía’s nephew who accompanied him on his final tours, offer a profound musical dialogue steeped in tradition, where every note reflects respect and passion for flamenco. The musicians display their freedom and virtuosity in a once-in-a-lifetime encounter.

Accompanying them, Piraña, an influential percussionist and regular accompanist to Paco de Lucía for many years, brings strength, creativity and rhythm, whilst David de Jacoba, a singer from Motril, and Montse Cortés, an intense and expressive voice from Barcelona—both of whom were part of the maestro’s line-up on various tours for many years—complete the line-up with singing full of duende and authenticity. Together they create a show lasting approximately 75 minutes that combines the maestro’s most iconic songs with their own compositions, adapted to each artist’s unique style.

This event transcends genres and venues: it is a dialogue between tradition and modernity, between technique and emotion, in which flamenco—a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage—becomes a universal language capable of moving any audience.
