Jawnino
Little or nothing is known about Jawnino, who hardly ever gives interviews and uses virtually no social media. A couple of facts? He grew up in the south-west London borough of Wandsworth; he was once expelled from school for playing Tempa T's Next Hype, a British underground rap anthem, in class; he took his first steps in rap with his friend Babydoom, with whom he would later form the NTN collective.
Salem
Although Salem was born as a trio, it is now the project of Jack Donoghue and John Holland, pioneers of what became known as witch house circa 2010, a cult micro-genre of music that is still eerily relevant three fifteen years later. The dark underside of dream-pop: think Cocteau Twins starting to make music after meeting in a Reddit sub-forum.
AKA HEX
AKA HEX is the neo-club project of Swiss-Nepali Aïsha Devi and Kenyan Slikback, two experts when it comes to turning the dancefloor into a literally physical experience. Their productions, coated in solid iron, push, hit and jolt you in the best possible shock therapy.
Frost Children DJs
Angel and Lulu Prost are siblings and grew up in St. Louis, where they started playing in their community church first and later in Green Day and The Beatles cover bands. They formed Frost Children while Angel was living in New York and Lulu in Nashville, but the pandemic brought them together at home and they began writing together.
