Having Danny L Harle is like having five DJ / producers in one. This prodigal son of AG Cook's PC Music label, collaborator of Charli XCX, Caroline Polachek, Rina Sawayama and Carly Rae Jepsen, has joined with or divided himself between his alter egos DJ Danny, DJ Mayhem, DJ Ocean and MC Boing to honour, on his debut album “Harlecore”, the dance music of the 90s in its different facets: eurodance, mákina, ethereal ambient and happy hardcore. An electronic music reviled by its contemporary musical elite but vindicated by the masses back then and by producers like Harle in the 21st century. Harlecore is the elegy to clubbing that we need and deserve, now also as a vehicle for poptimist messages of love and friendship at 180 BPMs.
