Dear tourist,

We are having a party to repudiate love. It is real shit. But do you know what else is real shit? Gentrification. Gentrification is a process of changing the character of a neighborhood through the influx of more affluent residents and businesses. Gentrification often shifts a neighborhood's racial/ethnic composition and average household income by developing new, more expensive housing, businesses and improved resources.

In Barcelona we have a huge problem with gentrification. Probably as big as the problem we have with monogamy and heterosexism. Tourism may sound like polyamory, because you don’t have to “marry” a single place, but polyamory can also be a problem. Polyamory is a problem when it’s not about caring but about consumption. Tourism is clearly about consumption.

So if you’re a tourist, please, love us and just don’t come to our party. Have a nice life!
