If the three members of Bar Italia decided to set up a bar to live up to their name, the bar would serve grunge 3.0, nightmare pop (the dark side of dream pop) and lo-fi folk. Those are the house specialities, although truth be told this mysterious project sponsored by Dean Blunt always has room off the menu for any sound that helps redefine the meaning of avant-garde. Imagine Oasis produced by Tirzah, Yung Lean setting up a Pavement tribute band, Broadcast reincarnated as a SoundCloud phenomenon: you can get anything at the bar of the best new bar in London.Although they continue to nurture other parallel projects (Nina Cristante publishes her own songs as NINA and Jezmi Tarik Fehmi and Sam Fenton also join forces in Double Virgo), Bar Italia are ready to resume the activity that in 2023 led them to release two albums. They will perform on 23rd October at La (2) de Apolo in Barcelona.
