BALTHVS

One day Tarantino will come along, include a song by BALTHVS on one of his soundtracks, and we’ll all wonder why we hadn’t paid attention to this unique and brilliant band before. The fifth and most recent album by the trio made up of Balthazar Aguirre, Johanna Mercuriana and Santiago Lizcano, Manifest, makes it clear: BALTHVS are masters of various instrumental styles ranging from psychedelic funk to cumbia, Anatolian rock and surf. In short, a global journey.

This blend puts them in a musical no-man’s-land alongside other projects that treat exoticism with affection and respect, such as Khruangbin, Los Bitchos and Altın Gün. Instrumental music without a passport, which can sound just as much like Texas, Istanbul, Almería or Bangkok as it does their native Bogotá. BALTHVS will present Manifest early next year in Madrid and Barcelona.
