What happens when the lives of no fewer than two generations are explained through the songs of a band? That the life paths of the band’s members are almost inevitably left in the hands of the collective imagination. Although no one has defined their listeners quite as Manel have, the Barcelona-based band is a wonderful exception: following the 2008 release of Els millors professors europeus, one of those debuts that capture a moment and a place with such startling clarity, Manel quickly realised that the future belongs to those who take risks. That only they could shape their own destiny

Three more albums, each distinct from the others, would follow, culminating in 2019 with the definitive breakthrough that was Per la bona gent, before the band went into hibernation. And at that moment, Arnau Vallvé, a founding member of the group, took his own destiny by the scruff of the neck and did with it whatever he pleased: he began writing songs for films, composing music for theatre productions, and producing for Boye, La Ludwig Band, Lildami, Triquell and Ven'nus.

He also began making music for himself, of course. He has even recorded an album about which he has revealed very little so far, except for a first electronic pop single, MENTRE EL MONSTRE, with which he is setting the stage for what is to come.
