NegoO, originally from Monte Abraão (Lisbon), developed a strong connection with music from a young age, especially percussion. At 17 he began producing his first tracks, influenced by his creative environment. He positions himself within the Batida scene with a unique style (Atalaku), singing in Portuguese and Lingala, and sharing his work on platforms such as SoundCloud.
Over time, he expanded his skills and moved to Paris, a key hub that boosted his artistic evolution through contact with international producers and DJs, consolidating his focus on a musical career.
He later joined the Jet Life Paris collective, participating in important events and platforms such as MUTEK, Boiler Room Montreal and Moonshine, where he also began his career as a DJ. He has performed in cities including Montreal, Belgium, Paris and Lisbon, and has been featured in projects such as SMS For Location Vol.5 and Fédération Internationale du Bruit. NegoO is an emerging talent with strong projection in the future of Batida.
Rita Maia is a Portuguese DJ based in London. She has also established herself as a radio host on Worldwide FM, as well as a curator, record collector and creative director. Her work focuses on highlighting artists from different geographies, connecting scenes from London to Portuguese-speaking countries such as Brazil, Angola and Portugal. This strategic vision allowed her to build her own DJ language, drawing bridges between rhythms, cultures and eras, from the traditional to the emerging.
Alongside her musical work, she developed and released the documentary Lisboa Beat, a key piece for understanding the influence of the African diaspora on Lisbon’s contemporary electronic music and club culture. The film explores how Afro-descendant communities have redefined the city’s sound, highlighting genres such as batida and its evolutions, as well as the social and cultural impact behind these scenes.
Arrebo.lab is a DJ and producer from Brazil. His journey in musical and community culture began in 2012, when he moved to Dublin and joined projects such as Zeembass, as well as recording across Europe. He currently lives in Barcelona, where he actively contributes to the local artistic scene by organising events under the Beats.Lab curatorship and co-producing music with projects such as Aabstrall and Bad Milton.
He is also part of the Muvuka collective and hosts the Radio Samambaia show on RBL.
