On 13 February 2026 at 6.30 p.m., the Sala Apolo will host the presentation of Monuments in Love / Cartas de amor, a free public event that will bring together contemporary art, performance, music and collective ritual around the work of Antoni Miralda. The presentation is part of the Art Meets Apolo (A.M.A.) programme and marks the closing of the Liberty Crown Brocheta installation in the hall of the venue.
The book presentation is conceived as a performative celebration and will feature the participation of Victoria Cirlot, Elvira Dyangani Ose and Gabriel Ventura. The event will include a loving dialogue with a performative reading of las Cartas de Amor, a HoneyMousse and toast created in collaboration with Tiberi, a musical performance by Akajú (Francesca ‘La Fra’ Frigeri and Luiz Murakami in collaboration with Carola Ortiz, Anatol Eremciuc Bahici, Miguel Guerra Guerrero, Ernesto Vargas) and the video projection Colón era una mujer (Colón was a woman) by Hidrogenesse.
Monuments in Love / Cartas de Amor is the first volume of the Honeymoon Updates collection, edited by Terranova, FoodCultura and Galería Senda, with design by Bendita Gloria. The publication revisits the first stage of Honeymoon Project (1986–1992), one of Miralda's most emblematic projects, focusing on the love correspondence between the Statue of Liberty in New York and the Columbus Monument in Barcelona.
The presentation coincides with the unveiling of Liberty Crown Brocheta, a work originally created in 1985 for El Internacional Tapas Bar & Restaurant in New York and reinterpreted by Miralda to preside over the Apolo lobby. In it, the rays of the Statue of Liberty's crown are transformed into luminous skewers of fruit and vegetables linked to the Columbian exchange, synthesising the relationship between food, power, history and monument that runs through the artist's work.
The event is part of Art Meets Apolo, a project developed in collaboration with LAB36 and Galería Senda that explores the meeting point between contemporary art and club culture, activating the venue as a hybrid space where the artistic experience is enjoyed collectively.
